Occupation: Factory enduro/ .
hare scrambles rider, R&D consultant, KTM Motorcycles
Track record: "I was the runner-up in the National Enduro
Championship in 1986; before that,
I won the 500cc National Hare
Scrambles Championship twice,
was the 250cc New England Enduro Champion, and the 250cc
New England Junior Enduro
Champion. I've ridden four ISDEs,
winning three bronze and one silver medal. Individual events I've
won are the Blackwater 100 and
the Alligator Enduro."
Riding history: "My· father
bought my brother and me dirt
bikes when I was about six years
old, and that's really when I started riding. There's a very good Junior Enduro program in New England, and I began competing when
I was 12. I used to race go-karts
on the national circuit, so racing's
always been in my blood. The reason I made the transition to dirt
bikes is that you can ride them just
about anywhere. I rode for the
Husqvarna factory for two years
and then was approached by KTM
in 1985 to help them develop bet-
sport. I also like the balanced tests '
it has. It uses a lot of different
kinds of riders to test the bikes,
and I think that's neat. The photos
are always good and the color is
excellent. . . it's just a high-quality
magazine. "
