When the leading rider scrambled across the finish line, the top five in the moto and overall were Molder, Stork, Koehn, Waugh and luhr. CA 92010 ~ while former Mini ace Thayne "Red Baron" lito made his debut on the larger machine. Meanwhile, the weekly front-runners Tim Rutherford and Mike Fedorow took the big leap to the 125cc Pro ranks. With the stan of the first moto, it was Valenti taking the lead ahead of Michael Overby, whoisa noted 250cc Intermediate. Dale Himmelreich held down third place at a good distance ahead of the rest. The battle for the lead intensified between Overby and Valenti. On the final lap, Overby made his move and snatched the lead away from Valenti. Himmelreich staned out and ended up on third. DMClYamaha rider john Davis had a bad opening moto, but in the final round, he took the holeshot. lito was in second until he came to the whoops along the back crash wall and got out of control. Himmelreich and Darin Motoda were in second and third but were demoted one position when Valenti moved up and took over second place. Lonnie Paschal had a perfect night for the 125cc Novice division-one win. In the first round, Paschal held the lead, while a battle developed for second place between David McCoy and Dave Alvarez. McCoy dropped back to third and Alvarez advanced to the runner-up spot. Several riders fell prey to the difficult sections of the track in the final round. Paschal continued to style in first place. Rick Campbell and Alvarez followed Paschal until they ran into trouble. Alvarez flipped his Honda over the back crash wall jumps, while Campbell flipped his Honda over the triples.
