L.arsson boasts win at Indian Dunes GP By Jeannette Fisher VALENCIA, CA, SEPT. 3·4 It was a nice day for racing as Soulhland Racing Associalion's Indian Dunes Grand Prix gOl underway. Walerproofing was highly recommended as water was not scarce. Mike Healey shot out in front for the early lead of the 80cc race. As the Minis rounded lap two, Bob Moore liad overtaken Healey for the lead, but Healey held fast to second and was not giving up the. overall so easily. The leaders rounded their eighth lap and passing slower riders did not slow Healey as he again had taken back the lead. As they completed the last lap, Moore took the checkered for the overall. Healey fell back to fourth aJld Shane Triller moved into second for the finish. Triller also claimed . lint Amateur, Mike Sandoval made away with the Novice win, while Darrin Mohacsi took top Beginner. Nearly 100 entries lined up for the Seniors and Vets class. Lars Larsson was in the lead as they passed the £i,nish on lap one with a whole pack of bikes following. George Luther and Dan Ayers, among others, were bot on Larsson's tracks. By lap three the riders had spread themselves out a bit. Larsson was still in the lead, Ayers had moved into second and George Luther held on to third. Larsson claimed the overall win, with plenty of space behind him as Ayers followed for second and Lynn McGraw moved into third. First Open Veteran was Raben Dahlgren and overall 200cc went to Senior Russ obinson.
