over for top honon, Matthews took
hotne 1eC0nd overall gold, and third
overall honon went to Buck.

Rusa Wageman has been active
in both the 125 and 250cc Pro
classes at Ascot. But because the
competition has been so tough,

third 1'1ace finiIIbes. Tonight everything
went Juat right for Wageman and he
aucc:aafully downed the l25cc Pro
cl_.
The nine-rider line-up included a
vilitor, Pete Langley from ul' north.
Langley found out that mghttime
racing in SoCal iI very competitift.
When the riden left the IItaJt1ng gate
in the fint moto they were doing just
fine till they hit the third comer. A
couple of riden bit the ground and
one of them was Langley. Avoiding
the confuaion was Wageman, who led
the group and was neftr challenged.
Glenn Page had leCond place secure
until TAO Yamaha's Tim Shelton
moved up. They came to a fast
straight and Shelton glided by Page.
John "Fantastic" Chwastyk powered
Dis ROOIt Factory Suzuki to a fine
fourth.
Dave Hamada shot out ahead of
eftryODe in the final moto. Wageman
had the next position for tbe rest of the
race. Langley showed his true talents
in this race, running in the top three
before his motor went sour. The new
rookie of the 125cc Pro class, Craig
Cable, had a poor fint moto but made
up for it this ume as he led many of the
more experienced riden and took
third. Overall it was Wageman,
Hamada, Shelton, Robbie Nolin,
Chwastylr., Page. Cable and Langley.
