"Rocket:' And that's what the competition
thought they were looking at in the Superbowl of Motocross's open cla ss ra ce
before over 47/XXJ fans at the Los Angeles
Coliseum. In the first moto. with a bad
start,Rocket Rex still managed a respect -
able fourth . He learned his lesson. In the
next two motos, Staten and his Elsinore
blasted to the lead immediately. And they
held that lead wire to wire.
With Rocket's victory in the open
class and Marty Smith's win in the 125
class, Honda took all but the International
class at Superbowl '74. Next year maybe
it will be an Elsinore clean sweep.
