By Buzz Baty EL TORO, CAL., Nov. 14,1971 - Last Sunday, Nov. 7, saw th.e US~C, sanctioning body for the Fnday night MX races at E1 Toro Speedway, put on an open event and a kinda "run w.h at you brung" Sunday afternoon of racmg. The program was explained to all those present, and they must have liked what they heard, and what the USRC . program was, as today, saw those 35 come back, as well as 16 more. All riders joined the USRC, paid the $5 en try, and practice and racing got under way. There were some familiar faces and machines, and some new ones. Scott Smith was out, and has that winning way still in hand. Scott won the 100/125 Sr. ST in his usual easy Looking style aboard his 125 Yamaha. David Boydstun is back to ride IT as well as his MX-ing, and showed the troops that IT is pretty e,asy for a real good MX rider as he won both the 250 and Open Sr. IT events with his 250 Maico.
