CHAMPIONSHIP
VOL. 55 ISSUE 16 APRIL 24, 2018 P85
DAYLIGHT
The Foxborough round was the first of
two in a row that are scheduled to take
place during the day, like Oakland
earlier this year. The race this coming
weekend in Salt Lake City will also be
held during the daytime. Anderson
said he adjusted with a little help from
a friend. "This morning, it was an early
wake-up, that's for sure," Anderson
said. "It's something we're not used to
in supercross. But actually, last night,
Zach Osborne has a motorhome
out here, so I stayed with him in the
motorhome last night, and was able
to sleep in until right when track walk
was. So it was not that bad, but defi-
nitely I like when we're able to sleep a
little later."
ZERO TO HERO
Kyle Peters slipped and fell on the ice
outside the new US Bank Stadium last
weekend in Minneapolis and blew out
his left knee. "All week leading up to
this, going to doctors, they told me
it was my ACL and MCL, and I was
just devastated," Peters said. "Just,
'C'mon, no, I can't go out like this.'
Then Thursday, it was just, 'We'll see
what we can do. I'll get my flights and
we'll see what can happen.' I struggled
all day with my riding, and I think the
LCQ actually helped me out a lot with
keeping me warm and keeping me go-
ing," Peters said. "It's truly a blessing
to even be up here." The only other
time Peters got a podium was at India-
napolis in 2013 on a privateer Honda,
where he finished just 2.5 seconds
behind Marvin Musquin in front of
eventual champ Wil Hahn. Peters is
planning to finish out the season with
the race in Las Vegas in two weeks,
then get his knee repaired.
