AMAZING RECOVERY
A week ago, Eli Tomac couldn't
even get through practice and quali-
fiers at Houston, but at Anaheim
II not only did Tomac get through
three main events, he took the
overall win. He said afterward that
he just needed to let the shoulder
heal. "I just need time to recover,"
said Tomac. "I don't want to make
up the sob story that, 'Oh I was so
hurt.' I hammered the shoulder and
it just wasn't getting better. When
you hammer something that bad it
takes more than a week to come
around. The past week we made
big, big leaps and was able to ride
Wednesday and Thursday; I knew
we were going to be able to give it a
good run tonight."
SPEEDIER REEDY
Chad Reed was faced with riding
the LCQ at Anaheim II, and it was
held during the daytime, prior to
the opening of the night show. He
experimented with some settings
on his new Husqvarna, and it paid
off. "The fact is that this is just my
third week riding, and this was my
first week prior to the race that I got
to ride two days," he said. "I take a
lot of wins out of today; a lot of posi-
tives. Riding the last-chance totally
sucked. I was pretty bummed on
that. But in all honesty, I think it was

went 1-2-7 and had to
settle for second.
