KTM XC-W 250 TPI—Husqvarna has unveiled its version of the TPI, the TE 250i.
For Husqvarna, the 2018 TE 250i is all new, including its new fuel-injection system that features in-
jectors delivering the fuel mixture downwards into the transfer port, like its KTM brother. It also features
an oil pump and oil tank (no more premixing), a 39mm throttle body, new EMS, adjustable mapping, a
translucent fuel tank (with integrated fuel pump), and a new intake snorkel.
Husky says that the TE 250i will be available in North America in late fall of 2017. CN

BMW bought the company.
With its new bikes, SMW hopes to fill a niche
that definitely needs filling, at least here in the
U.S., when it comes to affordable high-perfor-
mance street-legal dirt bikes. Right now, you
pretty much have two choices: pay lots and lots of
money for super-performing dual-sport bikes, or
spend a lot less for more pavement-styled dual-
sport bikes. There really isn't much in between.
But SMW hopes to bridge that gap.
At first, SWM will focus on importing three
models to the U.S.—the RS (dual sport), SMR
500s (supermoto) and Super Dual (ADV bikes).
