IN THE WIND P42 CUNNINGHAM OKAY AFTER GLEN HELEN CRASH K yle Cunningham was rushed to the hospital after suffer- ing a big crash during the first 250MX moto at the Glen Helen National, round two of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Champi- onship, May 28. Cunningham was clobbered by his crashing bike and was rushed to the hospital with sus- pected internal and rib injuries. It turns out that the AutoTrader. com/JGR Suzuki Team rider is okay and might even race this weekend in Colorado. Cunningham said via Instagram: Just wanted to give everyone an update after yesterday. After a crash in Moto 1 and the bike hitting me in my back left side I was rushed to the hospital with Doc being concerned about my kid- ney and spleen. Luckily after all of the tests both are ok. I have a hematoma in that area and probably some cartilage damage along with some ribs out of place. I'm pretty sore to- day but hoping to have therapy done this week and be racing at Colorado. At this point I'm not sure if that will happen but I'm going to do everything in my power to make that pos- sible! Thank you to everyone for all of the love and text mes- sages checking on me. CN Kyle Cunningham is banged up from his Glen Helen crash but should be okay. ALESSI WINS FMF TWO-STROKE CHALLENGE M ike Alessi, who calls Glen Helen home, didn't partici- pate in the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross at Glen Helen, but he did compete in the one-moto FMF Two-Stroke Challenge that was held just before the first national moto. Riding his dad's Suzuki RM250, Alessi ran off with the victory, using the race as a last-minute tune- up before heading north to Canada, where he'll com- pete in the CMRC Canadian Motocross Championship. The first of 10 rounds takes place in Kamloops, British Columbia, June 3-4. Alessi broke his collar- bone earlier in the year at the Detroit Supercross and, ever since, has been getting ready for the Canadian Nation- als, where he'll ride under the Monster Energy/Alpinestars Kawasaki banner. Second in the FMF Challenge was Rock River Yamaha's Gage Schere and third was Pash Rac- ing's Scott Champion. CN 1. Mike Alessi 2. Gage Schere 3. Scott Champion 4. Tallon Lafountaine 5.
