Late in the moto, after passing Plessinger's team- mate Colt Nichols for fourth, it seemed as if Osborne was going to get around Plessinger as well, but he had a massive moment with a couple of laps to go when he almost swapped out just past Glen Helen's super-fast first turn and seemed to decide to back it off a notch. Nichols finished right on Osborne's tail in fifth, took off, winning over Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Joey Savatgy, who kept Osborne honest throughout the race. Savatgy looked like a new man compared to the last few weeks and seemed to be on his game. Yamalube Star Racing Yamaha's Aaron Plessinger fought his way up to third before he settled in, unable to eat into the gap be- tween him and the lead duo. Osborne was the biggest mov- er in the first moto, as he started 250MX Consistency was also at a major premium in the 250MX class at Glen Helen. It was at a premium at Hangtown, too, but not for the winner, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Zach Osborne, who went 1-1 at the opener. At Glen Helen, he was the most consis- tent yet again, but not dominant like he was a week earlier. In the first moto, Geico Honda's Jeremy Martin snared a massive holeshot and then just Jeremy Martin had starts like this in both 250MX motos. This one led to a first-moto win.
