WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP VOL. 53 ISSUE 7 FEBRUARY 23, 2016 P49 41 TREY CANARD 9 TH 450SX It was another frustrating evening for HRC Honda's Trey Canard. The day started out well, as he was the fourth quickest in qualifying, just a half-second behind fastest qualifier Dungey. But bad starts ham- pered his evening. He was 10 th coming out of the hole in his heat race and got lucky when a rider in front of him fell on the last lap and was able to take the final transfer position. Canard rounded the first turn of the main in 15 th place and was running 10 th when he fell on the ninth lap. "There were some good steps in the right direction, but obviously I'm disappointed," Canard said. "I just have to get better on the starts and I won't be in trouble like I have been." 94 KEN ROCZEN 1 ST 450SX "I think I have more wins than Holeshot Awards," said Roczen after his win. "It was great to get that one. Me and Ryan, we battled the entire time. He passed me. I passed him back. It was tough out there. We had some good traction and in some parts we had some slick spots. They had the triple. They had a little dou- ble on the inside that was really hard to make. You had to get a good lift and just land in that pocket and make it. It was tough. It was a good race. He was pushing hard. I was pushing hard and we won it. It (the track) was tight in certain spots [so it] made for some good racing. The championship is still good. We only made up three points but we're going to keep fighting until Vegas. That's for sure." 16 ZACH OSBORNE 4 TH 250SX WEST Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Zach Osborne made a sur- prising comeback after suffering a hard get-off in practice, not to mention bad a crash in Arizona that kept him from start- ing the Main event. He won his heat race in Texas and came out swinging in the main with a fourth-place start. "I had a pretty big crash in the second practice," said Osborne, "so I was a little nervous going into the night, especially because I hadn't ridden all week. I got a great start in my heat race and won so that turned things around for me. I ended up on the podium in the main and was right in the mix. It's definitely a good way to go into the break. I'm going to focus on getting my ribs healthy and then I'll be back for more."
