SUPERCROSS ROUND 7 / FEBRUARY 20, 2016 AT&T STADIUM / ARLINGTON, TEXAS P50 MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES Briefly... For the second time this season, the entire Yoshimura Suzuki Team skipped a round of the 2016 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series, the latest being Arlington. James Stewart is still recovering from his Anaheim 1 concussion and Blake Baggett is still dealing with a shoulder injury. Baggett has not an- nounced a possible return, but Stew- art says that he's hoping to get back to action at the next round in Atlanta, but it's not "set in stone." GEICO Honda's Jordon Smith also skipped the Arlington Supercross. Smith was off to a good start to the 250SX West Series before suffering a shoulder injury, which he has been struggling with since after Anaheim 2. Smith expects to return to action when the 250SX West Series re- sumes on April 2 in Santa Clara. BTO Sports/KTM's Davi Millsaps had another solid outing by finish- ing seventh. He finished third in his heat race but didn't get his custom- ary good start in the main. Millsaps rounded the first lap in 10 th place and moved up to as high as seventh place before Musquin got him late in the race. Millsaps' teammate Andrew Short, who made his 2016 debut at San Diego 2 from injury, is still trying to brush off the cobwebs. He admitted that he's still feeling a little rusty on the bike and hopes to crack the top 10 soon. He bested his 14 th -place fin- ish at San Diego by one in Arlington. Short recently announced that this will be his final year of racing before retiring. Chad Reed had a very quiet day and night at Arlington. The Monster Energy/360fly/Chaparral/Factor y Yamaha-backed rider was 15 th -quick- est in qualifying, went 6-4 in his heat and semi, respectively, then suffered his worst finish of the year with a 12 th in the main after getting off to an 18 th -place start. He's gone 2-5-6-8- 12 since Anaheim 2 and has slipped back to sixth in the championship, seven points behind Tomac. CycleTrader.com/Rock River Yama- ha's Colt Nichols continues to turn heads. While much of the attention has been focusing on Cooper Webb, Joey Savatgy and Christian Craig in the 250SX class, the Oklahoman keeps on putting in solid performanc- es without a lot of fanfare, and Arling- ton was no different. Since Oakland, he has gone 2-5-4-4 and is currently holding down fourth in the champion- ship, but Zach Osborne is just one point back. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Christophe Pourcel fi- nally cracked the top 10 in the 450SX class. The Frenchman has been consistently reeling off some of the quickest times in qualifying but sur- prisingly has been struggling hard in the mains, but not this week. Pourcel got a little more aggressive in Texas, starting off the race in 13 th and cross- ing the finish line in eighth. 450SX 1. Ken Roczen (Suz) 2. Ryan Dungey (KTM) 3. Jason Anderson (Hus) 4.
