VOL. 52 ISSUE 20 MAY 19, 2015 P39 (Left to right) Seely, Superstock race-two winner Lee Johnston and Ian Hutchison. "I gave it all I had in that first Superbike race and after effec- tively four years out, to be able to challenge Alastair [Seeley] like that felt pretty good, Hutchinson said. "He's unbelievable round here and whilst I'm disappointed not to have won, after everything I've been through, I've got to be happy to be back on an Inter- national podium. The bikes are working excellently in all areas and I'm feeling good for the TT, so I'm peaking right now." Third in the Superbike race went to New Zealander Bruce Anstey on the Padgett's Honda CBR1000RR as the veteran readies himself for another crack at the TT and that elusive 1000cc victory. The Supersport race was again a Seeley benefit but the result wasn't decided until the final chicane. Seeley, newcomer Glen Irwin on the Gearlink Ka- wasaki ZX-6R and Lee Johnston on the ECC/Burdens Triumph 675R were all in contention until Johnston outbraked himself, causing Irwin to run wide and al- lowing Seeley a clear run to the flag. Completing the podium was Irwin in second and Johnston third. The first Superstock race was one of controversy after an ac- cident involving Hungarian rider Sandor Bitter caused the event to be stopped and rescheduled for Saturday. He was taken to hospital but suffered no serious injuries. Worse was to come on Saturday's re-run when Austrian rider Horst Saiger and Stephen Thompson collided while trying to avoid a crashing Dean Harri- son and his Yamaha. The result- ing crash saw not just Thompson but also a female spectator left in a critical condition, with both taken to hospital in Coleraine. Saiger was also transported to hospital but received only minor injuries. The race was therefore abandoned, and the second Su- perstock race run later in the day saw Johnston take the win from Seeley and Hutchinson. Finally, Ryan Farquhar and teammate, former MotoGP rider Jeremy McWilliams, took a win apiece in the Supertwins race aboard their SGS/KMR Kawa- saki machines.
