PRESENTED BY MAXXIS, AN AMA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP VOL. 52 ISSUE 19 MAY 12, 2015 P91 when I got around him; he got me back and he went down again. Once I passed him for the final time, the last lap I was just waiting for him to pass me back, I was just out riding around. I could see him back there but he wasn't pushing super hard, I don't know if he was struggling or what. I just rode my own race from that point on and the board said I was pulling 10 seconds, 10 seconds, kept building, building and building, and just kept push- ing all the way to the end. "This has been two years in the making, so cool," Bach said. "The crowd was pushing me on, it feels pretty good even if it's just for today, but it's nice to feel what Kailub's been feeling every weekend. I hope I can do it again." Russell didn't hide the fact that he wasn't up to his usual self. "I got off to a pretty good start, but I just never really felt com- fortable [on the bike]," Russell admitted. "I just didn't ride to win today. I just didn't have it in me. My bike wasn't quite set up for this. [Bach] gapped me and I just could never catch back up. I just kind of rode around in la-la land there for a little bit. It was a tough day. I'm pretty disap- pointed but it's not the end of the world. I still got second." AirGroup/Rockstar Energy Racing Husqvarna's Ryan Sipes rode well all day and was reward- ed with third overall, followed by N-Fab/AmPro Yamaha's Grant Baylor and Rockstar Energy Racing Husqvarna's Andrew DeLong. Despite suffering his first loss of the season, Russell still managed to stretch out his lead over current runner-up Strang, 175-118. Grant Baylor is 10 points back of Strang, while Bach is an- other nine points back of Baylor. Thomas grabbed the XC2 Pro Lites lead on the second lap and opened up a small lead over Pennsylvania rider Tegan Temple. He needed every bit of it after the reed-valve in his KTM two-stroke began to malfunction, Pennsylvania's Tegan Temple turned a lot of heads with a second-place finish in the XC2 Pro Lites class.
