ots of people have got Sylvain Guintoli
all wrong. Or at least had him all wrong
in the past. So what makes the newly
crowned World Champion tick? And how did
he do it right in 2014?
As the 32-year old Frenchman will tell you
himself, he's been riding in various World
Championship competitions since 2001. It
has been a long 14 years to the top of his
profession, passing through some zones of
light and dark along the way.
The light includes his family - English wife
Caroline and four young kids - the dark, an
injury to his leg in 2009 so severe he thought
about stopping racing altogether.
At that time in his life Guintoli had passed
