VOL. 51 ISSUE 50 DECEMBER 9, 2014 P183 Bach were in position to win the overall Club Team event un- til Bach dropped out with a me- chanical issue. "I had a good time at Six Days, but I don't know if I would go back to Argentina," says De- Long. "It was kind of a sketchy place. That trip made me aware that I take for granted what we have back home." Aside from DeLong's issue with travel in and around Argenti- na, the terrain posed a new prob- lem for the Pennsylvania rider. "The riding was tough, it was sandy and I'm not used to that desert type of terrain," says De- Long. "For me, it was about tak- ing it easy and keeping the bike running, because there were a lot of bikes dying out there. Chris Bach blew his bike up, which sucks because we would have won the Club division as a team if that hadn't happened." The 2015 National Enduro Se- ries starts even earlier than last year's series, but DeLong will be in much better shape when this se- ries kicks off then he was in 2014." "I want to make sure I'm ready, for sure," says DeLong. "The goal is to try to push my training to a higher level. There's going to be some pressure carrying the number one plate, I'm not going to lie, but I'm going in with the at- titude to give 110 percent," says DeLong. "It's going to be tough to defend it; there's going to be a lot of good guys lining up this year. The top 10 will be stacked but I feel good about my chances, and I'm confident we can win." CN At just 23 years of age, DeLong has a promising career in off-road racing still ahead of him.
