VOL. 51 ISSUE 30 JULY 29, 2014 P85
Briefly...
When asked to explain his win in
Pennsylvania, Jesse Groemm said
that he feels he's finally starting to re-
ally feel comfortable on his new bike.
"I've been riding with this guy in north
Jersey and he's got a nice loop with
a little bit of moto and a lot of rocks.
So I've been getting comfortable in
the rocks and getting a lot of riding
done after work in the evenings."
Former pro motocross star and fac-
tory Suzuki and Yamaha rider Broc
Hepler came out to ride the Rattle-
snake Enduro, and ended up on
Mike Lafferty's row. Hepler pushed
Lafferty in the opening test grass
track but dropped out of the race
with mechanical problems.
Nick Fahringer suffered a torn
MCL while practicing for the Rattle-
snake Enduro. "This week I came
up to Pennsylvania to ride with An-
drew DeLong and we had a good
day of riding at this home, and
then we came up here to practice
closer to the site of the race," said
Fahringer. "We found an old test
loop and I got a little too aggres-
sive before I got comfortable and I
fell while jumping a log. I hit my leg
wrong and it tore my MCL. It's a bad
injury but not the worst and the doc-
tor said I didn't need surgery, just
rest. So racing this weekend was a
risk because the knee isn't stable
and I didn't want to push myself to
the point where I did need surgery.
So I just rode as fast as I felt com-
fortable and I ended up with decent
points considering the situation. So
I lost the points lead, but it's not out
of reach and that's my number one
goal."
