Watts' KTM team and, because
Groemm has a full time job, it
took a little more time than usual
to adapt to the new bike.
"It takes me a while to really
get comfortable on a bike and I
switched to KTM for this year and
I'm just now starting to get a lot
of seat time, and I think I'm just
now getting to the point where
I'm starting to feel at home on my
bike. I'm also getting it dialed in
pretty good now."
Groemm got off to a quick
start, winning the first two tests
of the day, and then backing it up
with two more wins in tests four
and five.
"I just rode really smooth and
smart," said Groemm. "Me and
Andrew DeLong were close all
day, but I ended up beating him
out in four of the tests, so I was
just picking up seconds on him
here and there."
Baylor ended up second for
the second race in a row. This
time the FMF/KTM rider had to
come from behind to get the job
done, winning the final test of the
day to move ahead of Andrew
DeLong for the runners-up slot.
"I started off kind of slow, but
once I got mad enough I just
dropped the hammer and I was
able to pick up the pace in the
last few tests," said Baylor. "That
last test was pretty technical with
all the slippery rocks, and that's
