MOTOCROSS
LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS SERIES
ROUND 8/JULY 19, 2014
SPRING CREEK MX PARK/MILLVILLE, MINNESOTA
P42
In the 450 class, Ryan Dungey
was trying to make a run of his
own. After winning his second
race of the season last week at
Budds Creek, the Red Bull KTM
rider was hoping to back that up
with another win in his home state
and gain some valuable points on
his teammate and series points
leader Ken Roczen. However,
neither rider expected Eli Tomac
to throw a wrench in the works
like he did.
An impressive 1-1 gave the GEI-
CO Honda team rider, Tomac, his
first overall win in the 450 class.
"Today was my first 450 over-
all, so it's cool," Tomac said. "Not
many guys get to say they've won
a 450 outdoor National, so it's
cool to be there. And I did it in 1-1
fashion, so that was awesome."

NEW ERA?
Millville may very well have
brought about a new era to the
outdoor series, with Tomac nab-
bing his first 450-class outdoor
win and doing so in dominating
fashion.
Tomac's performance at Mill-
ville—and his rise in the results
over the past two weekends—
certainly indicate that the GEICO
Honda rider is here to stay, and
there's little doubt that the Colo-
rado-native will be right there with
Ryan Dungey and Ken Roczen
every weekend from here on out.
At Millville, Tomac didn't just win;
he dominated.
In moto one, Tomac chased
early leader Ken Roczen for 12
laps before finally making a pass.
The battle between the two rid-
ers was epic and it went back
and forth several times. However,
Tomac never gave up and even-
tually made the pass stick and
pulled away to take the win by 16
(Top) Tomac's first career 450-class
win was an impressive one. He won
both motos going away.
(Right) Jeremy Martin won the 250
class on home turf and extended his
points lead.
