While running fourth on the first lap of the first 450 moto, Stewart suffered a get-off but remounted to finish sev- enth. He returned for the second moto but said that he wasn't feeling quite right. After getting a good start, the race was stopped and restarted because of a starting-gate malfunc- tion. As he lined up for the restart, Stewart said he felt disoriented and dizzy, and decided to retire for the day. "Obviously, we're disappoint- ed," said Yoshimura Suzuki Team Manager Mike Webb. "But more than that, we're concerned about James. We're not really sure what's going on or whether he's suffered health is- sues that we were all unaware of at the previous rounds. One thing is for certain, it's been a tough few weeks for James and that's taken a toll on him and the team. Right now, we're going to get James checked out by a physician and play the next few days by ear. His health is our number-one priority." Chad Reed rode the Millville race with Pirelli tires. The day before the race, TwoTwo Motorsports and Dunlop both put out press releases saying the two parties had mutu- ally agreed to discontinue their re- lationship, starting with the Millville race. Dunlop had been a sponsor of Reed's team for four years. Reed is still struggling getting back up to speed after his injury. He went 14-14 for 15 th overall. This year track owner John Martin had a surprise for the riders: a big up and down hill.
