OFF ROAD
LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP
ROUND 5/JUNE 28, 2014
MUDDY CREEK RACEWAY/BLOUNTVILLE, TENNESSEE
P74
gate dropped, Pourcel shot out
to grab the moto-one holeshot
and the Frenchman set the pace
right away. Monster Energy/Pro
Circuit/Kawasaki's Justin Hill
also threw himself into the mix,
challenging Pourcel for the early
lead.
Similar to the carnage that
took place at the start of the 450
motos, Yamalube/Star Racing/
Yamaha's Jeremy Martin found
himself on the ground following
a multi-rider incident in the first
corner. As a result, Martin started
outside the top 20 on the open-
ing lap.
Webb remained quiet dur-
ing the early portion of the first
moto as he made quick work of
GEICO Honda's Justin Bogle,
and eventually Hill, in order to
put himself within striking dis-
tance of the leader Pourcel. Just
as Webb got by Pourcel for the
lead, in came Baggett for the sur-
prise challenge. The pair pulled
away in the closing laps, which
allowed Baggett to make a des-
perate move in the final corner
and somehow pass Webb on the
outside to edge him out at the
line by .080 seconds. The finish
Justin Bogle (32) finished out the
day on the 250-class podium.
