LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP
VOL. 51 ISSUE 26 JULY 1, 2014 P75
was so close that Webb actually
rode up to the podium in celebra-
tion before realizing that he didn't
get the win.
The momentum swung in a
much different way for moto two,
this time favoring Webb after 30
minutes plus two laps of racing.
After falling .080 seconds short
of his first career moto win, Webb
came into the second moto with
vengeance. The young gun man-
aged to get out front by the end
of the first lap, where he led all of
17 laps en route to his first career
overall victory in Lucas Oil Pro
Motocross.
Once again, Baggett wasn't
letting down as he caught up
to the rear of Webb in the final
moments. After several pass at-
tempts, Baggett made a slight
bobble that opened some space
between he and Webb. Shortly
thereafter, Baggett made contact
with a lapped rider that forced
him to the ground. As a result,
Bogle moved into second, and
the ordeal actually caused Pour-
cel to crash as well. Bogle held
on for second and Baggett came
back to finish third.
Webb became the 75th differ-
ent rider to earn an overall victory
in the 250 class with a career
best 2-1 moto score. Webb's im-
pressive ride brings him to within
eight points of his teammate Mar-
tin in the championship stand-
ings.
"I'm on cloud nine, I'm not go-
ing to lie," Webb said. "I was beat-
ing myself up when I got passed
in the last turn [in moto one], but
I was able to come back and get
the job done."
