too hard and got into a wobble
coming out of the final turn. He
saved it, but his drive was lost
and Westby held on to win by
.310 of a second.
Westby ran no better than fifth
in the first half of Sunday's race,
before shaking himself out of the
doldrums and charging to the
front in a torrid second half.
"I kind of felt like today these
guys had a foot on me, or what-
ever you want to say" Westby
said of running fifth for so long on
Sunday. "I wasn't quite as com-
fortable as I'd like to be to make
those passes. The bike started
blinking hot at me and it just put
me out of the zone for a minute.

Dane Westby dedicated his win Sun-
day to a new sponsor he had at Bar-
ber Motorsports Park, the National
Down Syndrome Society. Fans
have a unique opportunity to design
the paint scheme for Dane Westby's
Arai Corsair-V helmet. The winning
submitted design will be painted on
the helmet and worn by Westby at
the New Jersey Motorsports Park
round in September. The helmet
will then be auctioned, with the pro-
ceeds going to NDSS to further pro-
mote its mission of being the national
advocate for the value, acceptance
and inclusion of people with Down
Syndrome. Until July 31, people can
submit their helmet design entries to
the National Down Syndrome Soci-
ety for a chance to have their design
on the helmet. He will wear the hel-
met in the second to last race of the
season and then the helmet will be
auctioned off with the funds raised
going to support NDSS. See more

It was another challenging week-
end for M4 SportbikeTrackGear.
com Racing's Joe Roberts. It was
at Barber last year where Rob-
erts made his remarkable AMA Pro
Racing debut by sweeping the Su-
persport races and going on to an
undefeated campaign in the class.
Roberts was fighting an uphill battle
from the start at Barber this year, af-
ter an issue during qualifying forced
him to start the weekend's twin 19-
lap DSB races from the 18th spot on
the grid. He made impressive prog-
ress during Saturday's race aboard
his CBR600RR only to crash out of
a potential top-10 performance. The
17-year-old Californian came back on
Sunday and picked up a 16th-place
result. He battled with two other rid-
