My Own Race:
2 NICK FAHRINGER 4TH PLACE O/A
"We weren't quite up to par [on setup]," AirGroup/Radi-
ant Racing Husqvarna's Nick Fahringer said of his race. "I
was riding with the guys the first lap. I took the lead for a
little while on the second lap [but] went down a few times
and they got around me. The pace was escalating after
the first lap trying to find the lines. This place is pretty fast
once the line gets scuffed in and I just wasn't comfortable
at that pace. 'Man, what happened to me?' The last race,
I was running good. I came in with a few comments about
the bike and my mechanic Jamie [Campbell] made some
adjustments. All of a sudden it was like, 'Okay, I'm ready
to ride now!' It felt good so from the halfway point I started
clicking off faster laps. I think I was making up time on the
lead, but I think I was pretty far back [to begin with]. I still
charged hard and made up a few positions."
44 JIMMY JARRETT 5TH PLACE O/A
Speaking about the hectic first lap that saw him go from
last to first then to the middle of the pack, JJR Off-Road/
MotoVationsRacing.com/Moose Racing KTM 450 XC-F-
mounted Jimmy Jarrett said, "People were going every-
where. The first lap was pretty tight; it was pretty bushy
and people were falling. I just got lucky and kind of picked
my way through them to lead. I got out of the woods again
and got passed a couple times, then a couple guys fell,
but I had a good day. The last two laps killed me again;
I just got tired and had to settle my pace down pretty
slow. I knew someone was going to be coming to pass
me — I just didn't know who it was going to be — and
sure enough, Nick caught me with two laps to go. I had
nothing for him; I just pulled over and waved him by and
cruised on in."
