MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
er is the latest legacy of this long
tradition, and he now threatens to
surpass the most recent legend
Valentino Rossi in the same way
as he beat him again on Sunday.
To find a rider winning the first
seven races we must go back to
1971. Giacomo Agostini won the
first eight with MV Agusta, all from
pole position and all signed off
with fastest laps. But Marquez is
not so lonely on track these days
as the Italian multi-time World
Champion used to be back then.
No doubt all those watching
the Catalunyan race – live or on
TV – can feel extremely lucky for

Briefly...
Although rumors still hint at a pos-
sible move straight to MotoGP, it was
an open secret that the Australian
Jack Miller could be next season in
Moto2 with the Marc VDS team, rid-
ing a Kalex. The team hopes to move
to MotoGP with current Moto2 rider
Rabat, and move Miller and Span-
iard Alex Rins into their Moto2 team.
Rabat has a contract with Marc VDS
for two years, a deal which could be
released in case of receiving another
firm MotoGP offer. Miller insists he
has no contract for next year, saying:
"That's my manager's job, not mine.
There are a lot of untrue rumors out
there. I only know I have nothing
signed for next year." But some in-
siders insist that Miller has a long-
standing contract with the Marc VDS
team from 2014 to 2016, but joined
the Red Bull Ajo squad this year be-
cause he wanted one more season
in Moto3.
Such a move would be a good idea
for the fast-rising Australian, accord-
ing to riders who have followed the
same route. Both Tito Rabat and
Scott Redding have at various times
led on points in Moto2, riding for the
Belgium-based team. "Lately, chang-
ing from Moto3 is not that difficult"
said Rabat, pointing at the success
of this year's rookies like Maverick
Vinales, Luis Salom and Jonas Folg-
er. "It has been found that it is easier
than coming from 125cc. Riders are
now more familiar with four-stroke
engines, and I'm sure VDS can bring
all he may need. It is a professional
and well-known team trying to win.
There are very few teams like that.
I don't know Miller, nor what he can
bring with him, but I am sure it would
still be a good team to race with."
