surprisingly good and I had a
blast the rest of the time."
Stuck to Russell's rear
wheel on the first lap was a
hard charging duo of N-Fab
AmPro Yamaha's Jordan Ash-
burn, a rider who has been
on the verge of his break-
through season in 2014, and
JCR Honda's Chris Bach,
who was also putting in his
best effort of the season.
Russell's slower pace on
the first lap actually allowed
his FMF/KTM teammate and
reigning XC2 Pro Lites Cham-
pion Grant Baylor to take the
overall lead on adjusted time
after the first lap of the three-
hour race. But as the track
began to work in after almost
200 riders in the afternoon
race churned up the Ohio
soil, Russell put the hammer
down and gapped Ashburn
and Bach by 20-seconds.
Russell continued to pull
away for the remainder of the
race, leaving the rest of the
field to battle for the second
place spot, which turned out
to be incredibly intense and
wouldn't be settled until the
final moments on the last lap.
Rocky Mountain ATV/MC
N-Fab AmPro Yamaha's Josh
Strang finally made his way
into the mix after a big crash
on the first lap set him back
from the lead battle.
Josh Strang said
he didn't ride well
but his results
didn't show that.
