"This was a tough one," said Mullins. "They didn't take it easy on us, for sure, and I'm glad it's over." Fahringer maintained his pace in the final two tests, as well. And though he wasn't as fast as Mull- ins, he was quicker than DeLong, which moved him up into the run- ner-up slot in the final standings, 39 seconds ahead of DeLong. With four rounds in the books, Mullins now holds a comfortable 40 points over Fahringer in the series standings. "The first two tests suited me well," said Mullins. "They were hard-packed and fast and I was able to open up a pretty good- sized gap. However, I ended up getting lost in the third test and that cost me a lot of time. I made a few more mistakes try- ing to make up for lost time and DeLong and Fahringer made up some time on me. "In test four, I don't know what happened, but the rear brake went out on me at the start and I had to ride the whole nine miles with no rear brake. That was pretty tough but I managed to stay steady and not lose a crazy amount of time. "My last two tests were good and all in all it ended up being a (Above) Andrew DeLong got off to a fast start and finished out the day on the podium. (Left) Nick Fahringer got his Husky dialed in and surged into second place.
