more prevalent to the riders in a
three-hour competition.
Factory FMF/KTM riders Char-
lie Mullins and Kailub Russell
continued their ongoing battle for
the 2014 National Championship
on Sunday at the 33rd running of
the Parts Unlimited Loretta Lynn's
GNCC. Heading into round six,
Mullins held a seven-point ad-
vantage over his teammate in
the championship standings, a
gap in which Russell was deter-
mined to overcome. But with lap
times between Mullins and Rus-
sell nearly identical all afternoon,
it's hard to distinguish what gives
the winning rider an advantage in
such close battles. According to
the riders, it all comes down to
who makes the least amount of
mistakes.
Russell came out strong on
Sunday with a commanding hole-
shot over the rest of the field,
