I have to keep getting good starts
like that. The track deteriorated
and the whoops were gnarly and
it was a tough main, but I held it
together."
Wilson ended up second in
the main and was real close to
Anderson at the checkers even
though a heat-race crash in the
whoops left him with a wounded
shoulder.
"It was not the easiest race for
me, but I salvaged tonight," said
Wilson. "I injured my shoulder
earlier tonight and I should have
won, but did my best."
MavTV/Troy Lee Designs Hon-
da's Malcolm Stewart got on the
podium for his second event in a
row (San Diego). Stewart started
fourth and passed a downed Jus-
tin Hill who crashed on lap five in
the whoops while running third.
"This is my second podium in
a row," a thrilled Stewart said. "I
love Texas and the rednecks and
the big trucks. It's a big night for
me and my family has been push-
ing me. I'm just starting to believe
in myself that I belong on the box
and all the hard work is starting
to pay off."
