ond margin. Coming off of fifth-
place finishes in Atlanta and Indy,
Baggett was starting to look like
he was dropping out of the cham-
pionship picture, but his perfor-
mance at Daytona put him right
back in.
Like Villopoto, Baggett ben-
efitted from being an "outdoor-
type" rider on the more natural
terrain-type Supercross track,
and after passing teammate Mar-
tin Davalos on the opening lap,
Baggett quickly pulled away. In
the end, it was another all Mon-
ster Energy/Pro Circuit podium
(the first coming at the opening
East round in Dallas).
"It's definitely good to get one
under my belt and get the mo-
mentum going," said Baggett. "I
definitely think this track favored
me, because it's like an outdoor
race," said Baggett. "I just kind of
got in that zone and just kept it
going."
Baggett has also been strug-
gling with starts, but he still man-
aged to turn a poor jump off the
gate into a top-two start.
