The Motosport.com/Fly Racing-
backed privateer has been put-
ting the hurt on a lot of factory
riders this year, and this weekend
he passed Andrew Short, Justin
Barcia and Eli Tomac along the
way. And he did it the hard way
after going through the LCQ,
which he won.
"I think it actually worked to
my advantage having to come
through the LCQ, since I had a
lot more laps to get the track
down and figure out those lines,"
said Peick. "The main event was
good, we started 15th, which
wasn't ideal, but we worked our
way up to the top 10. After that
I just kind of found my place on
the track and got a rhythm. I saw
Short, Barcia and Tomac in front
of me and I just started picking
them off."
Peick took full advantage of
one section of track that other
riders were struggling with.
"There was a kind of slow sec-
tion of the track that I was capital-
izing on, and that's where I made
up the most time," said Peick.
