GONCALO REIS
5TH PLACE
With a background in motocross and enduros primarily in
his native Portugal, Goncalo Reis capped his brief first visit
to the U.S. by taking in the Moose Run, which he found
quite different than the GNCC finale he rode the week earlier but equally enjoyable. He said riding a GNCC had long
been a dream and he thanked Fun Mart Cycles' Tim Taber
for use of a KTM. "It was difficult in the woods because
he's not used to that," his interpreter explained. "We don't
have woods in Portugal so it's a bit different! But besides
that, he liked it! It's difficult, but he liked it."

MARK HERESCO
1ST PRO 2
A GNCC regular, Mark Heresco decided to try an OMA
for the first time and ended up with the Pro 2 win aboard
his FMC Racing.com/FMF/Jason Thomas Racing KTM.
"Back in Pennsylvania, this is like home [though] the corn
fields are definitely different - I've never raced something
like this. It showed how fast the 250 SX can go! I almost
had the holeshot but just blew the turn so I was regretting
that all day."

JIMMY JARRETT
DNF
Absent from the OMAs as he transitions to semi-retired
status, four-time OMA champ Jimmy Jarrett made his first
series appearance of the year at the Moose Run. "I love
this race! I've done it so many years in the past and always
had a ball at it, so I was in Indiana for the last GNCC [last
week and] I have a lot of friends up here so I made a little
event of it and came up and saw everybody. The race was
fun - a typical Moose Run; it was tough and [had] a lot of
logs. Going across one of those fields, the motor let go. A
lot of people do that at this race, but it never happened to
me. Oh well. But I had fun."
