It's not wise to bet against Tomac in the Day-
tona Supercross. Having already won it seven
times,
well more than anyone, the Red Bull KTM
factory rider ramped up his effort Saturday
night, passing two of his main title rivals quickly
to go from third to first on the same lap. Tomac
looked very confident as he increased his pace
and took the lead on lap six.
"I just go out there and roost the berms like
I'm at my home track," Tomac said. "I love this
dirt and the way it develops."
Once at the front, it was clear that history
would repeat itself. Tomac led the remaining
laps with little concern from the pressure behind.
Taking the checkers secured his fourth win of the
year. Beating Hunter Lawrence further closed the
points gap. Tomac is now just one point behind
in second place. The records continue to add

7 AARON PLESSINGER
6TH 450SX
Aaron Plessinger narrowly missed a
top five finish at Daytona. "Daytona
was okay. I just need to focus on my-
self and keep improving. Sixth place
is not bad, but I expect more out of
myself. I know the team expects more
out of me, and I would like to do bet-
ter. I chose the wrong gate tonight,
and I got the best jump that I could,
although with the gate that I chose, it
didn't do me any favors. I was in the
top 10 after the first corner and then
just pushed and made a few passes,
but I think if I were in a better position,
I would have been fighting for either a
podium or a smooth P5."

45 COLT NICHOLS
11TH 450SX
Colt Nichols finished just outside the
top 10 in the 450 main event. "It was
a better day overall," said Nichols. "I
ended up 11th in the main, but I feel
like I didn't really ride that well, so I'm
a little frustrated, to be honest. I'll take
the result and work on a few things."
