VOLUME ISSUE AUGUST , P77
have been on either side [of
that line], and unfortunately, we
were on the bad side. We just
had to make the most of it. It's
a huge bummer, because you
work hard, and you ride people
clean, and you hope to get the
same in return. But that's racing,
especially flat track racing, and
especially Short Track racing.
So, we just take our licks and
move on."
Bauman didn't try to hide his
regret with how Tuesday's race
played out. He said, "Man, there
are no words. That's not who I
am. What just happened—that
whole team hates me. I know
they do. There's nothing I can
say right now that Estenson
Racing will forgive me for. If I
could honestly give Dallas third
in that [and] take whatever he
got, we'd take it. Man, it's just
not who I am. We want to race.
We race hard. We race aggres

sive. We saw it last night. I've

Twins Championship battle.
"In the main event, it got su-
per slippery, and I knew Brandon
was going to be tough," Daniels
said. "He got around me, and
I thought I'd just sit there for a
minute and see where I wanted
to run. I wasn't really quite sure,
because I knew Briar was right
on me. Briar was coming around
the outside in one and two,
and I saw him, so I moved out
to block his line and got back
down to the bottom in three and
four. Before I knew it, I was on
the ground.
"We had some words after,
and that remains between us,"
Daniels said. "I'm not the type
of person who's going to air
my dirty laundry in any sort of
form. I understand that it is a
small Short Track, and there is
an element of racing to it. But
I do believe that there is a line
that can be crossed. We could
ishing behind only Robinson and
Rackley Racing's Davis Fisher.
Daniels, meanwhile, made it
up to fifth, crossing the stripe
0.134 of a second behind Dan
Bromley, who grabbed his sec

ond fourth-place finish on the
Memphis Shades/Corbin/Vin-
son-backed Suzuki GSX-8S. And
just like that, Daniels' record-
demolishing 23-race podium
streak was no more.
An irate Daniels exchanged
words with Bauman on the cool-
down lap. Bauman apologized
profusely, both to Daniels and
to the public during his podium
interview. Whatever his regrets,
however, the outcome gave Bau
