improved in terms of condition
and feel; however, it eliminated
many of the more obvious pass

on the Moto Anatomy X Royal
Enfield and the
decorated part-
timer, Henry Wiles, on the DL
Racing/HYMMC Yamaha MT-07.
"This is huge," Bauman said
following Monday's triumph.
"I'm fired up right now. It's hard
to put into words the standard
that Dallas and his team have.
To fight with them right now
after what I did last year, it's like,
'Holy cow.' I'm very appreciative,
and I don't want to take it for
granted, but it's so hard because
these guys are so good."
Monday's track conditions
slowly (d)evolved, creating a
situation where the faster inside
line was marred by scattered
bumps and ruts. While tricky
and treacherous, it made riders
choose a path forward and al
-
lowed for skittering overtakes
around
the outside, along with
the occasional opportunity to
backed ride for Triumph Motorcycles
in the AFT AdventureTrackers class.
Including the Mission Triple Chal-
lenge, that meant six main events
for Gauthier over two days while
jumping back and forth on two very
different machines. The highlight of
the doubleheader was a Monday
podium on the Triumph. He said,
"Henry [Wiles] broke there on the last
lap, and I squirted past him. It was
pretty sick. It was my first time riding
one of these things. I want to shout
out Triumph Racing for giving me this
Tiger 900. The thing has been work-
ing good, and it's a blast to ride. I feel
like I was overriding it a little bit; you
kind of have to go slow to go fast on
one of these."
