me, and I just made too many
mistakes after that. So, I'm a
bit bummed, but overall, from
a points perspective, it was a
great night."
Plessinger finished third for
his first podium of the 2025
season. The Factory Red Bull
KTM rider shot out of the gate
on Saturday night and quickly
took over the lead on lap
four. For a time, it looked like
Plessinger could challenge for
the win, but Roczen and Webb
passed in quick succession.
After losing the top spot, he
was shuffled back to fourth but
later found a second wind to
repass his teammate, Sexton,
with three laps left. Plessinger
is always a fan favorite, and

brate his third-place finish only
seemed fitting.
"I
just got a good start and
was able to execute," Pless

inger said. "It's been a while
since
we've been out front like
that, so just having that clean
air and being in the battle was

in the cards for us." Team man-
ager Iain Southwell said, "Cam-
eron made the right call to sit out."
Kitchen suffered a compound bro-
ken collarbone that required sur-
gery and two broken vertebrae. He
is expected to make a full recov-
ery. "It was unfortunate," Kitchen
said from the hospital on Sunday.
"[I] felt like I maybe found a new
level of riding last night. There
were some positives to take away,
but I got a little bit greedy with that
section. Just glad it wasn't worse.
[I] haven't seen the crash—don't re-
ally want to—it was probably pretty
gnarly. I will be alright."
SPECIAL NIGHT
RJ Hampshire dedicated his win to
his dad, who passed away recent-
ly. "It [the win] is special," he said.
"I lost my dad a few months ago,
and this was his race. Growing up
as a kid, this is where I came with
him. It was the only Supercross
I came to. And he was with us
today. Some guy came up to me
in the pits and had his old jersey
that he raced with back in the day;
that was something I never had.
He gifted me that and—it just felt
different today, man, like my dad
was definitely here. Finally got
to burn one [a victory burnout on
the banked track] down here in
Daytona. That was for my dad, for
sure."
