It was a tough start of the year for the
number 21 of Jason Anderson, as he fell
again in the San Diego main event. An-
derson ran third for most of the race and
held off Jus n Barcia un l a fall dropped
him to seventh. "I had a posi ve start to
the day, se ng the fastest lap me in the
first qualifying session," Anderson said.
"However, the starts proved crucial tonight
on the technical track layout, forcing me
to work my way back through the pack in
both my heat and main event races. S ll, I
felt comfortable [on the bike] as the night
progressed, but unfortunately a small
mistake during the main cost me a podium
posi on."

8TH 450SX
Adam Cianciarulo led the 450SX main for
a while before finishing eighth. "Overall,
I'm pleased with my performance tonight,
par cularly my strong starts and ability
to contend with the lead group in the
main event," he said. "There certainly is
s ll room for improvement but I believe
tonight marked a step forward from my
previous race."
