most two seconds and winning his seventh-straight
moto. He also took over the championship points
lead by five with another two moto wins. This is the
first time he's held the red plate this season, and
the big question is if he can hang on for another
five rounds.
"Today was, once again, a gnarly battle in both
motos," Tomac said. "I felt like I was a little gifted in
moto one there. Chase went by me and had some
better lines and had a little more pace. Moto two,
though, we made a couple changes, and then I
felt like I was the guy to move around and get to
the front. It's just been gnarly, the pace is hot, and
we're going to go down to the wire."
After seven consecutive rounds of red-plate
glory, Sexton handed the points lead over to
Tomac. Round eight will be the first time since Fox

moto, I made some good passes early
and got into third pre y quickly, but the
top two had pre y much checked out. So
yeah, 5-3 for fourth overall, that moves me
into fi h in points, which is where I want
to be. I just want to try and improve each
weekend and keep it going at Washougal."

4TH (6-3) 250MX
Jus n Cooper ran up front all day and fin-
ished just off the podium in fourth. "The
track was really fun, and I had a good flow
with it all day. The bike was great as well,
and I had two solid motos, but it was a
bummer to go down on the first lap while
leading that first moto. I had to use a lot
more energy in moto one, which I could
have used for moto two. We'll keep work-
ing and come back stronger."

6TH (4-6) 250MX
Max Vohland rode the best we've seen
from him all year and ran third for almost
the whole first moto before finishing just
outside the top five overall. "I had a good
day today and made some steps in the
right direc on. I rode really well all day—
from prac ce to motos. In the first moto,
I had a top-five start and moved into
third but ended up ge ng edged out for
