'Night, as he scored the win in this round of the weekly Shootout race, beating out 17 other riders. After the staggered start, the riders looked like a train winding through the course of tight turns and jumps. Ernst worked his 250cc machine past the six front-runners in the first lap to take the lead and keep it. Pro rider Darrell Chapman had his work cut out for him, starting £rom the last position. By lap two Chaprrtan had reeled in half the pack of riders and was focused on catching Ernst. With one lap left Chapman turned on the power, but it wasn't enough to corral Ernst who won the Shootout with Chapman placing second. ' The 125cc Junior class charged out of the gate with Buzz Wilson getting the holeshot followed by Brian Miller and Jeremy Huntsman. Miller quickly made an inside pass and took the lead. Wilson kept the heat on Miller for a couple of laps, but Miller found some extra speed and pulled away. . In moto two It was Wilson again with the holeshot, with Huntsman second out of turn one and Miller close behind. Miller again made a great pass to breeze into the lead, leaving. Wilson and Huntsman to battle in laps two and three. When the checkered flag was waved Miller took the victory with a one/ one score for the evening. In the Open Pro heat race, Eric Brouhard and Verdeen Langland bolted off the line first entering turn one simultaneously. Exiting turn two Langland and Brouhard slid wide, allowing Kurt Boelke, Hoffmiester and Peter Hook to power by. Boelke held off the hardcharging Hoffrniester while Hook seemed content riding the cushion in the third-place spot. As the class lined up for the main, it was announced an extra $100 had been added to the purse. Hoffmiester blasted off the line first, ahead of Langland, Boelke, Brouhard, Hook, Tehro, and Kohner into turn one. In turn two Tehro's bike spullered, allowing the field to pull away. After three laps Hoffmiester enjoyed a five bike length lead. Langland and Boelke were arguing over second, while Hook and Brouhard diced (or fourth. In the closing laps, Boelke found his way around Langland. On the last lap, Hook took a final run at Brouhard for fourth, but was unsuccessfu 1. At the wire it was Hoffrniester over Boelke and Langland. In the Open B class main, Tony Kohner slid by heat race winner Buzz Arndt on the white-flag lap to take the win. Two heats set the stage for the Beginner main. Heat race winners Travis Johnson and Jeff Milbrandt were ready, but it was l4-yearold speedster Jason Larson gating first. Larson and Johnson ballied back and forth for several laps with Larson coming out on top.. Results BEG: I. Jason Larson (KTM); 2. Travis Johnson (Yam); 5. Todd Johnson (Yam); 4.
