when the conditions are at
their worst and the deep ruts
of Indianapolis certainly played
to his favor. Tomac led the final
eight laps of the race and held
tight to the finish line despite a
big bobble on the final lap.
"That's just the way this place
is, you come here, and you
expect it," Tomac said. "Then I
totally almost threw it away on
the last lap, missed the double
over the start line area, and I'm
like 'Jeez! I'm gonna blow it,'
but that's just how this track is
it can just come up and get you
at any second."
This is Tomac's sixth win of
the season, his fourth in the
last four races. With struggles
for both Anderson and Stew-
art, Tomac now opens his
points lead to 51.
Barcia put together his best
ride of the season in Indy with
a second-place finish behind
Tomac. The GasGas rider
clicked off his second podium
in back-to-back weeks, all
while dealing with stitches in
his right-middle finger. Barcia
holeshotted the main event
and even led 18 of the 27 total
laps. A mistake in the whoops
allowed Jason Anderson
to close in and get around
Barcia, but the 51 stayed
close and went for a classic
Barcia pass just one lap later.
The block pass in the tight
180-degree turn put Anderson
on the ground while Barcia
recaptured the lead ahead of
Tomac.
"I wouldn't change anything,
I'd do the same thing I did,"

15 DEAN WILSON
7TH 450SX
"Indianapolis was definitely a step in
the right direc on," Dean Wilson said.
"I'm definitely ge ng closer to the guys
up front but tonight was a very, very
technical track. In the main, I just kind of
struggled with the ruts and the whoops
were really tricky. P7 is my best finish yet
but I'm not real stoked on it because my
riding wasn't very good, but definitely
some posi ves that we'll take to Sea le
next weekend."
27 MALCOLM STEWART
8TH 450SX
"I feel like Indy actually treated me well,"
Malcolm Stewart said. "I've always liked
this track and the atmosphere here has
always been good. In the main event, I
was si ng in fourth and I didn't feel bad
at all. The track was tough for everybody
and I made one big mistake that kind of
cost me but honestly, I'm just thankful
that I'm okay. I'm a li le bummed and ir-
ritated but it actually mo vates me a li le
bit more to get back up there and get
ready for Sea le. Let's go get 'em!"
Tomac claimed his
sixth win of the year,
his fourth in a row.
