Tomac is persistently impressive. Wins are to
be expected from the number-three, but the
manner in which he goes about getting it done
is downright ruthless. Another start near the
front saw the points leader just a few notches
behind competitors Jason Anderson (Monster
Energy Kawasaki), Justin Barcia (TLD/Red
Bull/GasGas) and Malcolm Stewart (Rockstar
Energy Husqvarna). Tomac always looks fast,
but the rest of the pack does too, and they
seemed to be holding the Yamaha man at bay
in the opening stages of the 450SX main event.
In typical Tomac fashion, he stalked the front
runners and struck when the time was right.
Tomac followed race leader Barcia until well
past the halfway mark before making his move
just after one of the technical rhythm sections.
The red-plate holder seems to always excel

"Today wasn't great feeling-wise, I'm in a
lot of pain but just ge ng through it," said
Cooper Webb, referring to his brutal main
event crash in Detroit the week prior. "I
kind of saved it all for that main event and
I'm glad I was able to get through it. I had
a good ride but I wish I would have had a
be er start to be in the mix. It was tough
riding and not being able to do some
obstacles but we fought in there. My goal
was top-five tonight and I achieved that. I
was right there for fourth and it felt good.
We were close to that podium, which is all

"I love these condi ons and I love this
place but I knew coming in that this year
in Indy it was going to be tough," said
Marvin Musquin. "It was a tough day; I'm
not going to lie. But I was there when it
counts. In those condi ons, you have to
be smart and you can't override this track.
I was being so pa ent, while trying to
be consistent, precise and not make any
mistakes, and I was able to pass Malcolm
and get third tonight. It was awesome, I'm
really happy."
