ROUND 8/JULY 20, 2013
WASHOUGAL MX PARK/WASHOUGAL, WASHINGTON
MOTOCROSS
LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS SERIES
tried to catch Dungey, but the
KTM rider was too far out of
reach, leaving Villopoto to settle
for second.
In moto two, Dungey got into
the lead quickly, passing holeshotter Josh Grant when the
JGRMX/Toyota/Yamaha
rider
bobbled just after the first turn.
Villopoto was right behind, setting the stage for an exciting final
moto.
At first Dungey pulled away,
but then Villopoto finally picked
up the pace, making a pass for
the lead on lap five and pulling
away for the win.
(Above) Eli Tomac dominated both
250 motos.
(Right) James Stewart is finally finding his consistency.
"In the second moto, we got
off to a good start and Dungey
pulled away just a little bit during the first 10 minutes," said Villopoto. "We did a shock change
after the first moto and I was able
to get the bike working better for
me and once I found some good
lines then I was able to close in
on Dungey and make a pass. After I made the pass I was able to
turn some clean, consistent laps
and get a gap."
