In the end, Villopoto's 2-1
performance gave him his
fifth overall win of the season and broke a five-year
winless streak at Washougal
Raceway.
"It definitely feels good
to finally get an overall win
here," said Villopoto. "I've
had a lot of moto wins and
I've traded moto wins with a
lot of riders and ended up on
the short end of the stick. I
traded wins here again with
Ryan Dungey and I ended
up with the long stick. Even
though it's a 2-1, it still feels
good and we'll take it; I've
raced here a lot of times
since I turned pro and it's
great to get this out of the
way."
Despite finishing second,
Dungey still had one of his
more impressive races of
the season, especially in
moto one.
"The first moto went according to plan," said Dungey. "We got a great start
and I just rode my lines. In
the second moto, I got another good start, but once
Villopoto got around me, I
really tried sticking to his

Briefly...
GEICO Honda's Justin Bogle,
who sat out the Supercross Series
with a wrist injury, turned in his best
performance of the outdoor series
with a fourth in the 250 class. The
Oklahoman had great starts in both
motos, including the holeshot in
moto one, and finished out the day
with 4-6 moto finishes.
After missing the last round in Michigan due to a crash during practice
that tore cartilage in his ribs, Tyla
Rattray made his return to racing
at the Washougal National. Despite
not being 100 percent, Rattray was
able to push on the difficult, hardsurfaced track and finish inside the
top-20 with 16-21 moto scores for
19th overall.
"It was just one of those days,"
said 250 defending champ Blake
Baggett of his first-moto mechanical DNF while running second. He
ended up 15th overall with a DNF8. "We definitely had the speed to
run up front and I think we showed
that. Unfortunately, luck wasn't on
our side in that first moto and it kind
of defined what our day would be
about. All things considered, a top
15 is a solid day and we'll look to
come back stronger at Millville."
Ryan Dungey, Josh Grant, Justin
Bogle and Wil Hahn all picked up
a point in the Motorcycle-Superstore.com Holeshot Championship at Washougal. So far, the GEICO Honda squad is dominating the
250 class, with Hahn leading the
way with eight points, followed by
teammate Zach Osborne with four
points. Fellow GEICO riders Zach
