Ithern Nevada· Southern Call Davis pulled from the track in second mota action with an unknown problem leaving Rodriquez to try and pressure the consistent Tamietti. At the checkers it was still Tamietti in the lead, but Rodriquez picked up second for the mota and second overall for the day. Honda rider Ron Gibson rode to a strong third place finish in round two to capture third overall. Suzuki ace Tony Gomez left' little room for competition in the 250cc Pro race. Gomez took command of both motos and pulled away from the pack to finish in the lead and looking the best we've seen in months. Ed Gauley powered his Suzuki Floater to the runner-up overall position with another Suillki rider, Jeff Lucas, picking up third. Suzuki riders Doug O'Donnell and Steve Wiseman each took a win in the 125cc Pro class, but each also had to settle for third in one mota as Hondamounted Lance Moorewood played the spoiler role and picked up two second place finishes. O'Donnell came out the winner with his top finish in mota two, despite strong pressure from Moorewood and Wiseman. Moorewood grabbed the second place money and Wiseman rounded out the top three. Pie plate Scott Brown (Team Green) took the overall win. Keith Senn '(Yam) took a bad start and tried throughout the race to catch Brown. His efforts took him into the second place spot and with much distance both in front and behind. Gene Baldwin (Dallas Baker Prod.) followed in third. Todd Hayes (Pasadena Suz) finished first Amateur after leading the first lap and then dropping to fourth overall. At the finish it was Brown (Ex), Senn (Ex), Baldwin (Ex) and Hayes (Am). With a total of 82 in the 200cc class, it blasted off the star.t in four waves. As the dust cleared, it was Mike Sixbery (Terry Cables) in the lead, with Karl Davis following a distant second. Pie plate Norm Francis rode in third but by the end dropped back.
