outhern California-Arizona-Southern Nevada-Southern Call Florida Winter Mini Cycle Olympics Nov. 25-28, 1982/Homosassa Springs, FL. As if motocross racing itself wasn't enough fun, we've decided to spice it up a little. At the Florida Winter lVlini Cycle Olympics, Kawasaki will be adding $500 savings bonds and $500'checks to the thrill of victory. Any Kawasaki rider taking the overall win in 65 cc (7-11 yrs. old), 85 cc (7-11 yrs. old), 85 cc (12-15 yrs. old) or 125/ 250 (combined class) gets the bond. Vince McMahon topped Corona's 250cc Pros despite a bad transmission. 20, until he found himself in the second position. Also putting in a fine ride was Clark Jones (Hon) who ran throughout much of the race in third and fourth and managed to end up with a third place finish. The win went to Breker while McMahon followed in a distant second. Fourth went to Dean Cates (Hon) while McLeod settled for fifth. with the gold in the 125cc Novice class. Eng used a 3-2 combination to edge out the 2-3 tally of second place finisher Greg Kopp (Yam). Eng cruised in second all but the last lap in the first moto, when Kopp snuck by. The moto win went to Suzuki Country's / Dale Himmelreich (Suz). The second moto win was taken by Bobby Pina (Yam) while Eng and Kopp followed in second and third. Vince invincible at Results CoronaMX By Kit Palmer CORONA, CA, NOV. 5 Malcolm Smith's Vince McMahon (Yam) put in two astounding rides to capture the win in the 250cc Pro class at tonights motocross at Corona Raceway. What made McMahon's dual moto wirfs so impressive was his use of only first and second gears in his Yamaha. In moto one McMahon rocketed into the lead ahead of Jerry Black (Suz), Anaheim Suzuki's Chris fleming (Suz) and Yamaha of Cucamonga's Rick Vanderham (Yam). Within a few laps, McMahon stretched his lead to a comfortable margin while Riverside Suzuki's John Mazzacane (Suz) and Suzuki Country's Duane Mapes (Suz) began making their way up through the field. By the half-way point, McMahon developed transmission problems with third gear, eventually losing complete use of the gear. However, the handicapped leader manager to make the best of what he had to hold on and take the win. Second went ta Black while Mazzacane and Mapes followed in third and fourth. In the second mota, McMahon had no choice but to ride his crippled bike in hopes of at least placing in the standings - and place he did. Even with only two gears, McMahon screamed to a sixth place start, far behind the leaders Fleming and Vanderham. Vanderham went down in the stadium whoops, dropping out of the race. All eyes were fixed upon McMahon as he picked off one rider at a time until he found himself in the lead with three laps to spare. Fleming took second followed by Mapes, Black and Mazzacane.
