THE 4th ANNUAL BARSTOW to VEGAS Motorcycle Road Ride and Poker Run Road bike drawing at PRESENTS Neubauernabs coming CRC Amateur event at San Diego. There was a good turnout of riders hoping to earn an entry to the Supercross event on the stadium style track.at the County. All three of the Pro class winners this week had perfectl-l rides. Todd Peterson took his Yamaha to the 250cc class victory. Scott Cavness finally avoided the br-eakage that has plagued him all season and swept the Open class on his Suzuki over Robert Rodgers and Gary Gonzales. And Chris Heinrich won the 125cc class which turned out to be an all Kawasaki affair. There were 17 250cc Beginner rid- ' ers this week and a very full starting gate. In the first moto, a flagger inadvertantly moved some pennant separating the Pro section from the rest of the track, and when the riders reached the split in the track half went one way and half went the other. Because of the confusion, the race was redflagged and restarted. On the restart, Jim Neubauer took the holeshot with his Suzuki and quickly pulled away from the pack. Martin Siedschlag started out in second with Ron Fagan in third. On the second lap, Greg John passed Fagan and moved up to challenge Siedschlag. On the fourth lap the pair tangled and they both went down. Fagan reclaimed second for a lap until Steve Baker caught him a lap later when Fagan crashed. Baker held on to second while third went to Paul Schmidt. In the second moto, Neubauer again took the early lead and had an error free ride for the win. Ray Bowman began the moLO in second in front of Fagan and Baker, On the third lap, ·Baker caught Fagan for third and pressured Bowman until the final lap when he finally passed him for second place. Third place went to Greg John, after he moved up steadily from a seventh place start on his Maico, and fourth went to Mark Hegel. Overall it was Neubauer on his J&H Motocross backed entry. Baker took second with a pair of seconds, and Ray Bowman's 4-5 was enough for the third place trophy. . At the start of the first moto of 250cc Pro, Todd Peterson and Randy Skinner tangled handlebars and both riders went down in the first turn. Peterson was up quickly, but behind the pack. Brian Manley held the early lead on his Yamaha over Ian FitzGibbon and Mark Anderson. Peterson was wide open and by the end of the, first lap he moved into ~cond place. On the next liiP he t
