Thomas and Oliver follo wed an d were putting it to th e pack , while Kendig, who is an excellent sportsman rider , held fifth. McCullough had th e lead all to himself, keeping th e spe cta tors in aw e as th ey wa tched th e former National nu mb er 85 p itc h it sideways a t a very hi gh rat e of spee d, lea vin g the wa r for runner -up between H oward, Oliver and Thomas. Ol iver was pushing Howard for secon d a t th e half. Wi th a · lap to go, McCullough kn ew he had th e wi n a nd wheeli ed across th e line to ta ke h is on ly main win o f the eveni ng over H oward a nd T h oma s, wh o returned the favor to Oli ver with a pass for th ird. Oliver , Kendig, Shermerhorn a n d Fish er fo llowed for fo urth th rough seventh. I Doug Chandler won after an impressive ride at Hills Ferry ST. with Co rcoran righ t beh in d du ring the second moto. The two battled the entire race with Holt able to hold off Corcoran's mount. Anderson had an easy time in th e 250cc contest, taking D o th rounds o ver a small class. Rob Burkhart (H ighland Honda) was the runnerup wi th a consistent 3-3 tally. T h e Open class saw a three way race fo r the overall.
