In the second moto, H ealey took another ho lesho t and hel d off Denis for half the race, and th en Den is crashed in the Pro section and failed to finish the moto. Healey's sevenla p tim e was a few h un dre d ths of a second quicker than T od d Peters on 's 250cc Pro record for the sam e distance. In the Pro classes the racing was just as hot as the wea ther. T racy Mee ks took his Team G reen /D G Kawasaki to the 125cc win over Chris Heinrich , Dea n Cates and T odd Hoover. In the 250cc class the overa ll victory belonged to Tamm Racing's J im Brodie with a 2-1 tally. Pro-Circu it rider, Mike Tripes, too k command of the first mo to , but cras hed twice before bowin g out of the second moto. Mid Ci ties' Rob Trone used a 4-2 score for second over all and Danny Bartholomew was third. In the Open Pro, Ric h Collins took th e holeshot in the first mo to and led th e whole way , but in the second moto, after a poor start, he cou ld do no better than sixth. Mike Tripes made up for his 250cc crashes by posting a 3-1 to take the overall.
