season.
Even with his goal now
achieved, Mees still didn't have
the race in the bag, and wouldn't
as it turned out. First harried by
Estenson Racing's JD Beach,
the two were joined at the front
by Mission Roof Systems Jarod
Vanderkooi and BMC Racing's

opened its final two laps.
Fisher—who had contemplat-
ed staying home after suffering
through a difficult season—was
gifted a secret weapon in the
form of failing brakes. The ap-
parent setback forced him to roll
through the corners faster than

3RD AFT SINGLES

the Suzuki Motor of America-backed Wally
Brown Racing team finally got on the po-
dium in their last a empt of 2021. It was
even more drama c than that, as Lowe
only claimed the posi on with a superhu-
man final lap to secure the spot. He said,
"I had a lot of confidence rolling into the
main a er winning my semi. We were
really just looking for a podium. I obviously
wanted to win so badly—I haven't had the
best results this season—but me and the
team have been ge ng more comfortable
with each other all season long. I ended
up ge ng a bad start, but I worked my
way back up through. I got an all right start
a er the red flag but kind of got pushed
around in the first corner. I was able to
make my way back up through again and
I made the pass for third on the last lap.
I'm just happy to get it done and happy
to learn with the team. It's amazing what
they can do."
